Our „Little“ Repair Academy
Want to learn how to fix things instead of throwing them away? Then join us on the RepaReise!
Over the course of 14 sessions, you’ll learn the essentials of everyday repairs: from working safely to electrical work and small household appliances, all the way to sewing, mending, and textile repair. No prior experience is necessary. What matters is curiosity, a willingness to try new things, and an interest in making things last longer.
The RepaReise will take place from September 18 to November 21, 2026. Sessions are held on Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. One exception is a full Friday in September, when you will receive training and your certificate as an electrically trained person.
What are you studying?
The RepaReise focuses on practical basic skills that you can put to use right away—at home, in your daily life, at Repair Cafés, or at Kreisler.
Here's what you can expect:
– Working safely with tools and equipment
– Basics of Electricity, Electrical Systems, and Safety
– Troubleshooting and repair of small household appliances
– Sewing, mending, and simple textile repairs
– Knowledge about zero waste, resource conservation, and the circular economy
– Kreisler e.V. Clinic.
– Interaction with other interested parties
– Certificate of completion at the end of the course
Some sessions take place right at Kreisler (U7 Wutzkyallee). There, you’ll observe actual repairs, learn about typical procedures, and gain confidence in using tools, working with technology, and interacting with visitors.
What can you do after that?
After the RepaReise, you’ll be able to handle small repairs on your own, better assess simple issues, open devices more safely, and identify common problems. You’ll also learn how to help others with repairs. You won’t learn everything perfectly—but you’ll learn enough to get started, continue developing your skills, and assist with repairs more confidently and competently.
Why is it worth the time?
Repairing saves resources, reduces waste, and makes you less reliant on buying new items. At the same time, it’s a practical skill you can use time and again in your daily life. That’s why the RepaReise is more than just a course: you’ll become part of a growing repair movement and can help ensure that things are used for longer—in your own home, in your neighborhood, at Repair Cafés, or at Kreisler.
Who is the RepaReise for?
RepaReise is designed for people who want to learn how to repair things and who might be interested in getting involved in a Repair Café, Kreisler, or elsewhere in the future. No prior experience is necessary. Everyone who is curious, enjoys hands-on work, and prefers to repair things rather than throw them away is welcome.
How much does it cost to participate?
Participation is free of charge. This is made possible by funding from the Berlin Nature Conservation Foundation. Kreisler e.V. makes the RepaReise possible by providing space, tools, materials, organization, support, and scientific evaluation.
